Creating a Corporate Alumni Network

Summary

Essity is a leading global hygiene and health company that develops, produces and sells Personal Care, Consumer Tissue and Professional Hygiene products and solutions. Sales are conducted in approximately 150 countries under many strong brands, Essity has about 48,000 employees and net sales in 2016 amounted to approximately SEK 101bn (EUR 10.7bn).

Alumni networks are an important tool that enables a business to stay in contact and access (ex) Talent. Helping with short and long term talent shortages expected in the near future. Alumni reduces the resources traditionally necessary in the hiring process.
We supported SCA/ESSITY in creating an Alumni network to support its strategies of digitalisation, brand attractiveness & talent retention.  Their particular concern was with emerging trend for talent to spend an average of 4-5 years in one company before moving on.

What did we do

Working with SCA/ESSITY, Brent Consultancy established a staged implementation plan that would work to capture its alumni talent prior to their rebranding to Essity. Post the foundation launch the network would at each stage, using member feedback, increase the value offering of the networks major features.
Major Features included:
●    Design and content creation of bi-weekly newsletter
●    Establish a new LinkedIn group for alumni, facilitating a transfer of all related group members the official group
●    Create a sign up page for the alumni network on the new essity site
●    Create all internal & external communication/information in digital articles (including material for social media) for launch
Essity/SCA is working with Brent Consultancy with the scheduled later stages to create and implement an alumni forum 7 support both global and local alumni events.

Result

The network continues to grow & SCA is now using its alumni to recommend & return for both contract and full time positions, giving them a dynamic edge in the evolving talent market.
